The GTA 6 community has produced some creative theories over the years — moon-phase Trailer 2 predictions, pixel-counting on Rockstar social media posts, decibel comparisons between trailer announcements. But a new claim on Reddit may have set a new bar for dedication.

A Reddit user claims to have placed multiple microphones behind the Rockstar North headquarters in Edinburgh, monitoring noise levels to detect when the studio may be ramping up for Trailer 3's release. The theory? Increased activity inside the building means more people working on marketing materials, which produces measurable sound signatures that can be tracked from outside.

"This measures the acoustics and decibels around the Rockstar headquarters which I have installed personally using my own experience in building such products. I think that due to the increase, this could mean that there are more employees, executives convening at the headquarters to discuss the release or possibly celebrate the release of GTA 6."

But the claims quickly fall apart under scrutiny. The microphones in the Redditor's photo appear to be condenser mics — sensitive in controlled environments, but utterly useless next to a busy Edinburgh road surrounded by office buildings. That "audio spike" at 2 PM? More likely a delivery truck than a trailer celebration.

Adding to the skepticism: the equipment was "mysteriously removed" when the user returned to check data, and the Reddit account is brand new with this being its only post. The same user also claims to monitor car traffic in the Rockstar parking lot to determine executive presence — measuring vehicle values and arrival times to predict marketing decisions.

Creative? Absolutely. Legitimate? Almost certainly not. But it's a perfect snapshot of where the GTA 6 community is right now — five months from launch, starved for official news, and increasingly willing to believe that Rockstar is leaving breadcrumbs everywhere. One thing's for certain: when Trailer 3 does drop, it won't be because someone planted microphones in a bush behind the office.
